Staying in a hotel can be nice but you often find you don't quite relax as much as you would like. You can't relax and enjoy being in a strange place readily because it obviously is not home. Whether you are on a business trip or vacation, spending time much time in a hotel will be much nicer and more relaxing if you can make it a little more like home.

There are some things you can do to help make your hotel experience more pleasant and comforting. Below are some tips to make your next hotel stay feel more like home.

1. Many people start the day with a cup of coffee or tea. If you have a favorite cup or mug you like to use, bring it with you. Most hotels have coffee makers in the rooms or can make one available to you. It can be comforting to be able to have your coffee or tea in a familiar cup or mug. Also bring your favorite coffee or tea. If you like a particular grind or flavor of coffee or type of tea, you want to be sure to have it with you.

2. Most people decorate or even stuff their homes with pictures of family and friends, so bringing some of your favorites will make your hotel room more like home. You don't even have to pack and unpack them every time you leave and come home, have copies of them and put them into sturdy frames without glass and keep with your luggage all the time. This will get the burden of always forgetting to pack them for a trip, since they are already packed.

3. Certain aromas can make a person fell at home as the sense of smell has a very strong affect on how we feel. Having scented candles in your hotel room will remind you of your home making your stay more pleasant. For many, the smell of something baking, like apple pie, can play tricks on the mind and can remind people of home.

4. Restless nights are bound for some people sleeping in a strange bed. You can bring the comfort of your own bed, when you have the pillow that you use with that. Snuggling with the familiar pillow that puts you to rest in your own bed will help you sleep better inside a hotel room.

5. Things that you enjoy brushing against your skin as you watch TV or read a book at home, like an afghan of a blanket throw will definitely give a more comforting feel. Do bring it along.

The things listed above are just of the ways that can spread the magic of your home in your hotel stay. You can add some to your list on how to make your time at hotel rooms pleasant, since it is you that knows your home the best. Having things that remind you of the comfort of home will definitely make a good trip into a great trip. - 31515
