Chicago is a city second to none. This wonderful Midwestern jewel has a gorgeous lakefront, spectacular architecture, and top-notch restaurants. Throw in the Magnificent Mile for unparalleled shopping and it becomes clear why Chicago is a preferred destination for travelers from around the world.

There are a lot of first class hotels to accommodate the city's visitors. The location of the hotel can put in a great deal to the enjoyment of a visit. For visitors who want to experience Chicago's great museums, including the famous Art Institute of Chicago, one of the hotels south of the Loop on Michigan Avenue provides an ideal venue. Chicago's major museums are located close to each near the southern portion of Lincoln Park. A hotel on South Michigan Avenue puts all of them within walking distance. And it's a beautiful walk it is, along Michigan Avenue and through Lincoln Park. Lake Michigan is within view to the east.

If shopping is the main reason for coming to the Windy City, a downtown Chicago hotel along the Magnificent Mile is a must. The northern portion of Michigan Avenue, known as the Magnificent Mile, is a deluxe shopping Mecca. There are a number of fine hotels along the Mile. A stay at any of them puts a guest within stepping distance of what could add up to a shopping frenzy.

Many hotels offer exquisite dining. If experiencing the full enjoyment of a meal is high on a traveler's list, Chicago has several hotels that offer dining with a view. Savoring a culinary masterpiece which enjoying a impressive view of the city is truly an experience.

Chicago is theater town with many wonderful productions waiting to be seen. The city's major theaters are located at the northern end of the Loop, near some fine hotels. Anyone who intends to see a few plays while visiting is advised to choose a hotel within walking distance of the theater district. This will make leaving the theater and trying to find a cab or other transportation with a crowd of other theater-goers unnecessary.
