Regardless Of Whether Those Airports Are International Airports

By Bernd Felder

Are you planning on attending a business meeting or taking a vacation out of the country? If so, you will need to book a seat on an international flight. Have you ever been on an international flight before? If not, there are a number of factors that you should first consider, such as the international air travel rules. In fact, it is not only recommended that you do, it is required that you do. Not knowing all of the international air travel rules could land you in a boatload of trouble.

When it comes to air travel rules, many travelers, maybe even you, automatically think of being in-flight. While there are in-flight travel rules that you must abide by, there are also other rules. These other rules are ones that apply in all airports, including international airports. Since you will arrive at the airport first, before actually boarding your airplane, it is advised that you first familiarize yourself with these common air travel rules.

As previously mentioned, there are a number of airport rules that exist in all airports, regardless of whether those airports are international airports or domestic airports. These rules commonly include a list of prohibited items, the screening of all baggage, the removal of your shoes, and the screening of passengers. In addition to these airport travel rules, which can be found in almost all airports in the United States, there are some air travel rules that only apply to international airports.

Since airline officials and airport security cannot guarantee that you are who you claim to be, you will need to show proof of identification. Depending on where you are traveling to, this identification may need to be more than a simple government issued identification card or driver?s license. In fact, you may also need to supply your birth certificate, a passport, a visa, or a certificate of citizenship. For additional information on which proofs of identification are required, you are advised to contact the international airport or airline that you will be using.

Once you have made it though all of the international airport security checkpoints, you should be able to begin boarding your plane. When boarding your airplane, you are advised to do it in a calm, but timely matter. As soon as your airplane is in the air, you need to follow all instructions given by the pilot or flight attendants. This includes staying in your seat until it is safe to get up. In the event that you refuse to cooperate with the airline staff, you may be putting yourself and other passengers in danger.

While it is important to understand all international air travel rules, there are many travelers who are unsure why those rules are so important. They are important not only for your country and well being, but for the country and well being of others. Although it may seem ridiculous at the time, but if you refuse to stay in your seat or you are caught arguing with airfield security, you will find that you are automatically tagged a terror suspect. This is largely due in part to the fear of another terrorist attack. Once this happens it is often difficult or impossible to go back to normal.

In the event that you violate international airport security rules, intentionally or not, it is likely that you will be pulled aside. Depending of the rule that you violated, you may only receive a warning, but you could also receive much more. Should you be labeled as a suspicious traveler, you may be detained by airport security or local authorities for an undetermined amount of time. The same can be said for international air travel rule violations in the air. Once your airplane is able to land, often at the nearest available airport, you will be held for questioning.

Since you can never guarantee the outcome of your actions, it is important that you stay on your best behavior when at an international airport or aboard an international flight. - 31515

The Amazing Frozen Land of Antarctica

By Hannah Perez

The continent of Antarctica is truly unique, with its breathtaking beauty it still can be incredibly ruthless to anyone who tries to dominate it. It remains the only continent in the world that has never seen the face of war. However, this continent, with a land mass larger than America and Europe together, has been the scene of more violent deaths than natural ones, due to continuous low temperatures which keep it practically free of any germs.

Present day Antarctica is a continent of contradictions as men of opposing political views labor in harmony, warm and contented three short inches away from a 100 degree below zero environment where blood freezes in seconds. Since the horrendous cold of Antarctica makes their bodies lose calories at an alarming rate, those living in Antarctica are forced to eat four generous meals a day just to keep up.

During the summer months, Antarctica is bathed in endless sunlight, which gives way to what is known as the "big eye", an insomnia condition that plagues most residents, as they struggle to sleep in the bright light of day. Bombastically the people who live in the Antarctic claim the rights to being part of the 300 Degree Club. They also boast that they have access to the cheapest and most southern bar on the planet, located at the South Pole. However, with the long nights through part of the year, a bar tab could still be rather expensive. The nights are extremely long between the months of April and September.

Its heartland is blanketed with a 9,000-foot sheet of ice in motion, and yet geologists state that it may harbor a sufficient quantity of oil, gas and coal to heat the world. Its laws, or lack thereof, are so strange that a fugitive could not be extradited and any criminal has almost nine million square miles of terrain ranging from open spaces to mountain ranges in which to conceal himself, should he be fortunate enough to survive more than a couple of hours in the most adverse climate known on earth.

There are no laws in Antarctica, but crime happens so infrequently there it doesn't need them. It could be the spot of the perfect crime, but if anyone has been murdered, it is a crime which has not been prosecuted. Antarctica has no extradition treaties or any laws which enforce murder statutes anywhere on the continent.

Ten flags from different countries are unfurled over the continent; however, not a single square foot of this real estate is claimed by any. Not a single country or nation has even attempted to try and make a permanent colony here on these primal lands. Ironically, these primal lands have some of the most technologically advanced pieces of equipment.

It may be surprising to know that the people who live here, although usually only for a short period, are known to have the highest IQ per capita on the planet. Due to the many scientists who live and work there, the college degrees can often outnumber high school diplomas. Having the most peaceful research out of any continent, this continent is more talent filled than any ivy-league school out there. This southern land is the only place where firing nuclear bombs is completely restricted.

There are no other continents with stricter laws of conservation. Whaling and sealing are regulated there now, people seeking those trades requiring licenses to even be in those waters. Present day Antarctica is the playground of the world's top scientists who are strenuously involved in keeping it pristine. - 31515

What Do You Get For Your Car Insurance Dollar?

By Adriana Noton

No matter how you pay for car insurance, you probably pay a pretty hefty sum of money for car insurance. While it is possible to lower the amount that you pay by shopping around for insurance, you may still wonder what all those dollar give you. In short, you get peace of mind for the dollars you will pay. The long answer may help you to better understand the final destination of your premiums.

Liability insurance is required in every state to meet state financial responsibility laws. These financial responsibility laws vary greatly and the amounts and types of insurance coverage that is requires is different in different states, however every state requires some type of personal injury and property damage coverage on your vehicle. If the coverage lapses then some states are canceling the registration or driver's license of the person. You will be required to prove that you are covered and pay a fine or an administrative fee.

Driving without car insurance, however, can cost you much more than just a fine. If you are in an accident, you can be held financially responsible for the other person's vehicle and medical expenses. In addition, you will likely be ticketed for driving without insurance. These expenses can far outweigh anything you might pay in insurance fees.

In addition you will have to pay to have your own vehicle repaired or replaced. In the interim time, you may have to pay for a rental vehicle to take you to and from work and fulfill other duties for which you need a vehicle. This can sometimes be several weeks. The cost you pay for the rental vehicle is often a significant amount of money.

Additionally, you will want comprehensive coverage on the vehicle that will pay in cases of theft, vandalism or for breakage of glass. Car thefts are far more common than we want to think. Stolen cars are often driven until they are wrecked or damaged. They may also be stripped and the parts sold. Even when the car is recovered, it has often been damaged beyond repair.

Newer vehicles are often required to have comprehensive coverage by the loan company. If you do not have the insurance the finance company will purchase their own insurance on the vehicle that offers you no coverage, but will pay off the loan if the vehicle is damaged or stolen. This insurance is very costly and will be added to the end of your loan on the vehicle.

The best way to save money on car insurance is to comparison shop. You will find that there are many companies that offer free insurance quotes online. You may choose to give all the required information for the most accurate quotes or you can choose to get quotes with no personal information given. These quotes will allow you to compare prices and find the insurance company that offers peace of mind at the lowest cost.

Insurance brings peace of mind but does not have to break your bank account. - 31515

Planning The Perfect Spring Break On A Budget

By Adriana Noton

Every year, thousands of College students head to exotic island hot spots for spring break. Unfortunately, the recent economic conditions and the rise in the price of tuition have now left many students on a tight budget. Many students cannot afford the usual spring break exotic vacation destinations. Fortunately, there are many things a student can do to plan the perfect spring break vacation while on a budget.

1. When planning a spring break vacation, you should figure out how much you can afford to spend. Once you know how much you can afford, you can plan a vacation that will not have serious financial consequences. You should set the amount of money aside and stick to your budget. Do not take more money than you can afford to spend as you will likely spend it. As well, you should plan how you will spend your money on things like, transportation, food, entertainment, and other expenses. Wherever possible, use cash to buy your items instead of a credit card. You do not want to return from your trip and find yourself saddled with high credit card debt that you cannot afford.

2. Selecting the right vacation destination is a key component to helping you stick with your budget. Decide where you want to go for spring break. If you cannot afford a traditional exotic beach vacation, you should consider a more local destination. Miami and Las Vegas are fun places to vacation. They can also be more affordable destinations. The internet is full of travel sites that offer special spring break packages. Once you have decided on your destination, make sure you book early to ensure you get the best and cheapest deal.

3. Traveling alone or with one person can be expensive. Plan your vacation with a group of friends. You can often get great travel and hotel discounts if you book as a group. If you are traveling by car, travel with a group of friends so that you can share fuel costs. You can also share a hotel room. Having about four people per room will significantly cut down on the cost of accommodations. It can also be really fun staying together.

4. Restaurant costs can really take a bite out of the budget. Instead of dining out every day, get a hotel room that has a kitchenette and buy your food from a supermarket. If you do dine out, look for restaurants where you can get a cheap meal such as a fast food franchise restaurant. By doing so, this will significantly cut down on food expenses.

After calculating how much money you will need and you discover you still cannot afford a vacation, there are many other options to take advantage of such as going on a road trip with friends for a few days, visit family or friends, or take a day trip to another city or fun attraction such as an amusement park. No matter what destination you choose, you should have fun, relax, stay safe, and enjoy the break from your studies. - 31515

Trapped in Big Bear...Sort Of

By Karen Richardson

This year Big Bear Lake, CA had an epic snow storm. Most of Southern California experienced flooding that damaged many buildings in the coastal cities. But we were absolutely buried in frosty precipitation. There are different cities in the Bear Valley area like Moonridge, Fawnskin and Sugarloaf and they all took their own measure of beating, but what I was amazed by was the sense of community and brotherhood.

At first I began to question living in Big Bear because of these scenarios but now I feel a sense of confirmation. Rooftops are covered in feet of snow and holding, Chimneys are heating homes where the power is out. But all in all these abodes are boding well. And now my family is snuggled by the fire playing Yahtzee and telling stories by candlelight and strolling through the streets of fantastic snow hills in the early morning.

I admit I was secretly terrified that we would all be stranded and trapped like the Donner Party but as we began to dig out of our driveway, I felt a ray of hope. And then I saw neighbors helping neighbors with their trapped vehicles. And as I walked to the end of my block to search for any evidence of plowed road, I passed smiling faces and welcoming waves. We asked each other if we needed anything and offered our open doors.

When I came home, I was happy to see my family again, all finding ways to busy themselves and get to know one another better. I am definitely thankful for all that we have and, in truth, I actually felt at peace in the storm of the decade.

We were definitely forging new memories together in our new environment. It was very special to me. It seemed like we did the same thing every day, but oddly enough it did not bother any of us too much. Well, maybe my teenager.

When I went to the grocery store, I saw a lot of frantic people who were visiting Big Bear for the snow. I am glad we live up here because the security of knowing the area definitely alleviated the stress of the entire situation. Hopefully, we will be able to prevail through any weather conditions in Big Bear. - 31515
