The second most popular place to ski in Europe is Austria. Besides excellent skiing Austria's scenery and top class service and attention to detail are world class. Austria has chalets that cater to all levels of athletes. Besides it world class skiing it also has excellent aprs skiing.

Some of the most difficult skiing in the world can be found in Switzerland. The Swiss Alps has the toughest and highest ski runs in the world. Swiss ski chalets were built around existing towns so there is a lot of culture to experience as well as skiing, something that French ski chalets may lack. Besides the very advanced ski trails there are some chalets designer for the intermediate skier.

Italy also has some great skiing experiences and tends to be less expensive then Switzerland, Austria, and France. The Alps at Italy's northern boarder and the Dolomites provide excellent winter skiing. Trails in Italy are perfect for those learning to ski.
