There are many reason that one might want to learn Japanese. Some people are interested in Japanese because of the cultural phenomenon that many products from Japan have become... from video games to anime.
Japan is also liked by many people because it has a strong traditional culture and a very strong business culture which has promoted Japan to being the second largest economy in the world.
Japanese can be mastered and you can become proficient in it just like any other language, however, we must remember a few things if we want to truly be successful.
Japanese is one of the more difficult languages to learn for English speakers because it does not use the same script for reading and writing and also because it has few similar words with English.
Spanish or French, on the other hand, use the same script as English and also share many words because English borrowed a great number of words from these languages and other Latin influences thus resulting in many cognates between the languages. This means that you can pick up a great number of words simply because they are very similar to the English equivalents.
What this means for studying Japanese is not that it is impossible but just a bit more difficult.
You need to have a strong reason for wanting to learn Japanese if you are going to become proficient in it.
If you really want to get to that high level in Japanese, you have to make sure that these reasons are foremost in your heart.
Whether you want to have a better glimpse of the Japanese culture and traditions or whether you want to have a better understanding of your favorite anime series, make sure that the desire is strong in your heart for learning Japanese.
This will mean that your journey of studying Japanese will be kept well even though it is a strong one. So, keep studying and every time you feel that you are growing weak in your resolve to learn Japanese, remember the reason you want to learn it and keep that pushing you forward. Good luck! - 31515
