I recently read a terrible article describing Europe as being very overrated and was surprised by the ignorant comments I read. It is unfortunate that people may read this article or like-minded ones and be put off a trip to Europe or in fact any destination.
Some of the other remarks were about the cities being polluted and dirty and since most people in Europe smoked the article said that you would find it difficult to breathe clean air. Woeful comments like these are completely incorrect and certainly paint a picture of someplace I would rather not visit either. Lots of cities do have problems with some elements of pollution as during the designing stages a few hundred years ago they were not thinking ahead about modes of transport that had not been invented yet. This is why lots of cities have limitations on cars and there are many pedestrian only areas. As for smoking in the UK or Ireland you cannot smoke in any public building so your lungs are safe.
This horrendous article does bring to light the need for people to do correct research prior to settling on any travel arrangements despite where you plan to go. It appears that the author of the article I read has a one sided view about travel in Europe or probably just did not bother to do any checking themselves.
Design your vacation around your needs so that when you begin looking you have a better idea of what you require. If you are traveling with children make sure that there are kids clubs or a children's swimming pool. If you want to visit particular historical buildings check to see if there are any public holidays when you plan to go. You do not want to travel all the way there and discover that they are closed for a public holiday.
You owe it to yourself to make sure that what you are getting is what you really need or want. There is no point in protesting when you arrive there. The net is a good resource however you do need to be careful about some of the accuracy of some of the data. Do not forget to ask for advice from a travel agent and especially one that specializes in the location you require.
Wherever you decide to go on holiday if you have done your research cautiously and designed it well you will get the holiday you deserve. - 31515
